# Interview with James cerofeci (10/18/1981)
The interviewer was trying to find out the development of the union. How it all started and what is the contribution was happened? And who was involved with it? He was interviewing a rubbing man in the piano factory who promoted himself a “business manager of union”
The interviewer went very deep to the topic and trying to find the smallest clue about formation of the union. He asked question like who was involved and how they got together what kind of discrimination happened. How they talk about the problem and as a union manager how he connect with other people .James also explained , he was doing same rubbing for rest of his life there was no change and they did not have enough modern equipment to work with . They work so hard but company cut their wages. He also explained about his local 101 union formation; they asked for protection in the job, holydays and more.
This interview explained the history after World War II when the worker was coming back to work. He also talks about the black man started to coming to working in the factory but there was hardly any black before 1970. In Steinway there was more Germany in the factory.
